What to see in Serra de Tramuntana?
Sa Calobra
Sa Calobra is a small cove in Majorca located in the Sierra de Tramuntana. Surrounded by spectacular mountains, it is a unique enclave in Mallorca. Its location and small dimensions make Sa Calobra a magical place. The road to access Sa Calobra is incredible and one of the most famous on the island for its curves with more than 10 kilometers of ups and downs, its viewpoints and its spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Royal Charterhouse of Valldemossa
The Royal Charterhouse of Valldemossa is the most emblematic building of this small mountain town located in the Sierra de Tramontana, in Mallorca. It is noted for its green neoclassical dome and for being the home of many artists, including the pianist Frédéric Chopin and the writers Rubén Darío, Miguel de Unamuno, Azorín, Jovellano, Santiago Rusiñol and the writer George Sand. In fact, during his stay at the Charterhouse, Frédéric Chopin composed Preludes Op.28, while his partner, George Sand -pseudonym of Amandine- wrote the internationally famous book A Winter in Mallorca. Valldemossa was a great inspiration for the pianist and the novelist if we taking account that they only spent 95 days in the Mallorcan paradise. The Valldemossa Charterhouse complex consists of the Palace of King Sancho and the concert hall, the Church of the Charterhouse, the old monastic pharmacy, the museum of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand and the Municipal Museum of Valldemossa, divided into four sections: An exhibition of the old Guasp printing press, one of the best preserved in Europe, and a collection of 1590 woodcut matrices from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries; a room dedicated to Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria; a room of works by painters who were inspired by this part of the island, the Serra de Tramuntana and, finally, a collection of Contemporary Art.
Church of San Bartolomé, Valldemossa
The church of San Bartolomé or Sant Bartomeu is a 13th-century construction that bears the name of the patron saint of Valldemossa. This Gothic-style parish church with a neoclassical bell tower is open to its parishioners and the general public. You can enter during the day to admire its white vault, its rose window and its paintings.
House of Blessed Saint Catherine Thomas
Saint Catherine Thomas, is known as the blessed although in reality she is canonized. Born in the 16th century in Valldemossa, she is the patron saint of this municipality and her birthplace is still preserved, now converted into a chapel in her honour. This chapel is located in front of the Church of San Bartolomé. Santa Catalina Thomás is the most revered saint in Mallorca since she was the first Mallorcan saint. Her remains remain intact in the Convent of Santa Magdalena, in Palma, where she entered at the age of 21. Several miracles are attributed to her the appearance of saints and the experimentation of the greatest ecstasy in history (21 days). Thus, she was beatified in 1792 and sanctified in 1930. In her birthplace you will find an image of the saint and a small altar and, walking through the town, you will see that the houses have some small tiles of the blessed as well as various elements that allude to her, such as the fountain and the Molinet de la Beateta.
Sa Miranda viewpoint
The Mirador de Sa Miranda des Lledoners is located in Valldemossa, a pretty town in Mallorca. Located at the end of Calle Jovellanos, from this viewpoint you can see the town with the church of San Bartolomé in the background, the valley and some of the mountains that make up the Sierra de Tramontana.
Deia Cemetery

It has the most fabulous views of the sea , numerous artists are buried there., among them, Robert Graves, the famous British novelist who fell in love with Mallorca and was a resident of Deià for years.
Saint John the Baptist Church of Deià
The St. John the Baptist church is located in the mountain municipality of Deià, in Mallorca. Its construction dates back to the 14th century although it was rebuilt in the 18th century after a fire. This stone parish church has a single nave and a barrel vault. Although quite simple, its location on one of the highest points of Deià gives it spectacular views of the Sierra de Tramuntana and the sea. Attached to the Church of St. John the Baptist is the cemetery of Deià and a defense tower converted into a bell tower of the parish in the 16th century..
Deia Waterfall
In the rainiest months, this Deià waterfall gushes out.from the Camino des Racó.
cannon lookout

Sa Foradada viewpoint
The Sa Foradada viewpoint belongs to the municipality of Deià. From here there are magnificent views of Sa Foradada (the holey one in English), a small peninsula with a hole in the middle of the rock and splendid sunsets. At the viewpoint there is a small beach bar where you can have a drink while enjoying one of the most beautiful sunsets in Mallorca.
Constitution Square, Soller
The Plaza de la Constitución is located in the center of the municipality of Sóller, in the north of Mallorca, the nerve center of the town, where the Sóller Town Hall, the Church of San Bartolomé, the modernist bank, the current Santander office, and numerous cafes, restaurants and ice cream parlors are located. The legendary electric tram that connects the center of Sóller with the port also crosses this square.
Church of Sant Bartomeu de Soller
The church of Sant Bartomeu or San Bartolomé, is one of the most beautiful churches in Mallorca. Declared a site of cultural interest, its construction began in the 13th century, originally in the Romanesque-Gothic style but, as is usual in these constructions, it has undergone modifications over the years, which is why we also find some Baroque structures. But, without a doubt, the last modification, begun in 1904 and finished in 1946, is what makes the Church of San Bartolomé an icon of the city and an example of wonderful Art Nouveau. This is the spectacular modernist façade, the work of the Catalan architect, Joan Rubió i Bellver, a disciple of the great Antonio Gaudí, with whom he collaborated on other works of great importance, including La Sagrada Familia, La Casa Batlló and Parc Güell, in Barcelona.
