The Torrent de Paréis (Torrent of Paréis) is a canyon located in the Sierra de Tramuntana, north of Mallorca. In 2003, this impressive canyon was declared a Natural Monument by the Balearic Government, being at the time the third natural monument in the Balearic Islands. This canyon, more than 3 km long and 200 meters high, is famous for its beauty and its turquoise blue water that passes through two high gorges and flows into Sa Calobra. Ideal for hikers and climbers, its cove is what it calls more attention but its difficult access and its rocks do not make it a recommended beach to spend the day but rather to enjoy its spectacular views, take a dip and spend a pleasant time in an incredible setting. These characteristics mean that the best way to get to the Torrent de Paréis is by boat, although if you have time and desire, you can also do it on foot.
Pollentia, was a Roman city founded after the conquest of Mallorca by Quinto Cecilio Metelo in the year 123 BC and it marks the beginning of urban life on the island. Thanks to its location ;strategic, between the bays of Pollença and Alcúdia, Pollentia was the most important city of Roman times in the Balearic Islands. Currently you can visit the areas of the gate (Portella), the Forum, and the Theater, in the town of Alcudia.
La Portella is the residential area, which contains remains of three domus or houses and of the road route that unites them. In the central area of Pollentia are the remains of the Foro, the square of the city where archaeological work is still being carried out. Among the most outstanding remains are the Capitoline Temple, two smaller temples and a large set of Tabernae (commercial area). Located on the outskirts of the city in a southerly direction, ;very close to the place where the port would have been located in Roman times, the theater is one of the elements most representative of the whole complex. The Roman theatrehas the particularity that it is excavated in the rock, taking advantage of the natural unevenness of the area, which is why a large part of its structure is preserved, in which the cavea, the orchestra and the stage can be seen. .
The medieval walls of Alcudia, located in the northeast of Mallorca (Spain), are the oldest on the island and were declared a Artistic Historic Site in 1974. This six meter high wall, It was built, in the first place, under the mandate of King Jaume II to protect the municipality from the constant attacks of pirates who, at that time, looted all the areas of the Mediterranean coast. Its construction began in the 14th century, although it suffered several attacks that left it almost completely demolished, which is why, during the reign of Felipe II, at the end of the 16th century, a new Renaissance construction phase began that would be demolished again in late nineteenth century due to the strategic location of Alcudia. Currently, two gates of the original wall are still preserved: the Moll Gate and the Sant Sebastiá Gate and the moat. Only the bastion of Sant Ferran remains from the second construction, where a bullring was built. If you visit Alcudia, the first thing you will see when you arrive in the town are its iconic walls where you can access the highest part and contemplate unique views.
The Cuevas del Drach are located in Mallorca, in the town of Porto Cristo. They are of great value since they have a 1,200 meter route that runs through larger and smaller galleries full of stalactites and stalagmites up to 25 meters deep. Inside there are several lakes, the most important being Lake Martel, one of the largest underground lakes in the world that is 117 meters long, 30 meters wide and a depth of between 4 and meters . Its name is due to the first person to cross the lake, the speleologist Édouard Alfred Martel. The interior temperature of the caves ranges between 17ºC and 21ºC, so there is always a pleasant temperature. La Lonja is located in the city of Palma de Mallorca. It is a public Gothic building built as a mercantile exchange and for the meeting of the merchants of the time. It was built by the Mallorcan architect and sculptor, Guillem Sagrera, between 1420 and 1452. Its ribbed vaults and its six pillars with stone palm trees are remarkable. The Paseo del Borne or Passeig del Born is located in the heart of Palma de Mallorca and is the work of the Madrid architect Isidro Gonzalez. El Calvario or Calvari, in Mallorcan, is the most emblematic place in Pollença, a municipality located in the northeast of Mallorca. El Calvari is a hill made up of a stairway made up of 365 steps, one for each day of the year, flanked by cypresses and fourteen three-meter-high Christian crosses, recalling the suffering (calvary) of Jesus Christ while climbing Mount Golgotha where, according to Christian tradition, he was crucified. Mount Calvary is very important for the inhabitants of Pollença who, in memory of the Calvary of Jesus Christ, every Good Friday celebrate the "Davallament" (detachment from the cross), one of the acts most important and recognized of the Mallorcan Holy Week. This act consists of lowering a carving of Christ of great historical value from the cross and carrying it in procession up the tortuous staircase to the Church of the Virgen de los Ángeles, patron saint of Pollença. This ritual is carried out with strict respect, in complete silence and illuminated only by the light of the torches that the brothers carry with them.
The Church of Calvario is located on the top of the hill of the same name, in Pollença, in the north of Mallorca. It consists of a small oratory that houses in its interior a sculptural group of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary at his feet, of great historical value since it dates from the 14th century. Outside the small church we find a privileged environment with fantastic views of the entire municipality. To reach this oratory it is necessary to climb the El Calvari (El Calvario) staircase, which consists of 365 steps, one for each day of the year.
Fornalutx Town Hall is located in the center of the municipality, at the beginning of Calle Mayor or Carrer Major. Although austere, iwhat makes it remakable is its cobbled façade that matches the rest of the buildings and alleys and the defense tower that guards it. This tower is from the 17th century and its state of conservation is excellent.
Calle de La Luna or Carrer de Sa Lluna, is a commercial street located in the center of Sóller. Its pedestrian street with houses small shops selling clothes, accessories, perfumes and typical products of the area. In this street there are also various Majorcan houses of interest such as Can Prohom, Can Bardí and Casa de La Luna, the oldest in Sóller and which gives its name to the street.
Banco de Sóller is a modernist building by the architect Joan Rubió i Bellver, a disciple of the famous architect Antonio Gaudí. Currently, it belongs to the Santander bank, but its facade shows the wealth that the people of Sóller obtained in the past with the export of citrus fruits to France, which allowed them to build a bank according to their wishes
The church of Sant Bartomeu or San Bartolomé, is one of the most beautiful churches in Mallorca. Declared a site of cultural interest, its construction began in the 13th century, originally in the Romanesque-Gothic style but, as is usual in these constructions, it has undergone modifications over the years, which is why we also find some Baroque structures. But, without a doubt, the last modification, begun in 1904 and finished in 1946, is what makes the Church of San Bartolomé an icon of the city and an example of wonderful Art Nouveau. This is the spectacular modernist façade, the work of the Catalan architect, Joan Rubió i Bellver, a disciple of the great Antonio Gaudí, with whom he collaborated on other works of great importance, including La Sagrada Familia, La Casa Batlló and Parc Güell, in Barcelona.

The Royal Charterhouse of Valldemossa is the most emblematic building of this small mountain town located in the Sierra de Tramontana, in Mallorca. The Valldemossa Charterhouse complex consists of the Palace of King Sancho and the concert hall, the Church of the Charterhouse, the old monastic pharmacy, the museum of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand and the Municipal Museum of Valldemossa, divided into four sections: An exhibition of the old Guasp printing press, one of the best preserved in Europe, and a collection of 1590 woodcut matrices from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries; a room dedicated to Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria; a room of works by painters who were inspired by this part of the island, the Serra de Tramuntana and, finally, a collection of Contemporary Art.
Saint Catherine Thomas, is known as the blessed although in reality she is canonized. Born in the 16th century in Valldemossa, she is the patron saint of this municipality and her birthplace is still preserved, now converted into a chapel in her honour. This chapel is located in front of the Church of San Bartolomé. Santa Catalina Thomás is the most revered saint in Mallorca since she was the first Mallorcan saint. Her remains remain intact in the Convent of Santa Magdalena, in Palma, where she entered at the age of 21. Several miracles are attributed to her the appearance of saints and the experimentation of the greatest ecstasy in history (21 days). Thus, she was beatified in 1792 and sanctified in 1930. In her birthplace you will find an image of the saint and a small altar and, walking through the town, you will see that the houses have some small tiles of the blessed as well as various elements that allude to her, such as the fountain and the Molinet de la Beateta.
The church of San Bartolomé or Sant Bartomeu is a 13th-century construction that bears the name of the patron saint of Valldemossa. This Gothic-style parish church with a neoclassical bell tower is open to its parishioners and the general public.
