Taormina is one of the most beautiful and visited cities in Sicily, located on the east coast of the island, between Messina and Catania. Taormina has a rich historical and cultural heritage, with monuments such as the Greek Theatre, the Cathedral of Santa Maria della Assumption, the Clock Tower and the Saracen Castle. In addition, it offers stunning views of the sea and the Etna volcano, as well as paradisiacal beaches such as Isola Bella and Giardini Naxos. It is a charming city with small streets full of bars, shops and restaurants where you can taste some of the local products such as the famous arancini, a type of large rice croquettes that are filled with meat, cheese, tomato sauce and peas. Its name means "little oranges" in Italian because of its shape and color; fresh fish such as tuna, swordfish or sardines, and cannoli, fabulous Sicilian sweets filled with ricotta. The most common way to get to Taormina is from a cruise stopover stopping in the port of Messina, due to its proximity, or by taking a car route through Sicily.
