Fornalutx is a small municipality in Majorca, located in the heart of the Sierra de Tramontana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its cobbled narrow streets, its stone houses and the beautiful surrounding landscape, single this village out as one of the most charming in Majorca, so much so it has been awarded the prize "Most beautiful village in Spain". The characteristic roof tiles that still remain on many of its houses were painted by hand and feature a myriad of images from religious and astral figures, to animals and people. The tiles were often painted in red to protect the houses and their guests from misfortune. Many of these unique tiles and their history can be seen in the museum, the old oil mill of Can Xoroi, in the center of  Fornalutx.
