Ayutthaya

Ayutthaya (often misspelled as Ayuttahaya ) is one of Thailand 's most important historical cities, located about 80 km north of Bangkok . The former capital of the Kingdom of Siam between the 14th and 18th centuries, Ayutthaya was one of the most prosperous urban centers in Southeast Asia until its destruction in 1767. Today, its impressive ruins form the Ayutthaya Historical Park , a UNESCO World Heritage Site .
