Porto

Porto is a city and municipality located in the north of Portugal and, together with Lisbon, is one of the favorite cities in Europe for its beauty, history, gastronomy, character and ease of visiting the different places of interest, which make it a perfect destination for a weekend getaway. Porto has a fabulous historic center declared a World Heritage Site that contrasts with state-of-the-art modern elements such as the metro, the longest in the country. The city of Porto is next to the Douro River where several bridges allow you to reach Vila Nova de Gaia which, although it does not belong to the municipality of Porto, many people come to visit its famous wine cellars. Some of the places of interest that you cannot miss are the Clérigos Tower, the São Bento station, the Casa da Música, the Porto Cathedral, the Capela das Animas (Chapel of the Souls ) and the Capela do Carmo (Carmo Chapel) with its famous façades with the typical blue and white tiles of Porto, the Lello Library, where they say the writer was inspired from Harry Potter, the Palace of the Stock Exchange and the Bolhao Market, where you will find fruits, vegetables, fishmongers, wines, some cafeterias and shops with typical products. Other places that you cannot miss are Avenida de Aliados and Rua de Santa Catarina, commercial area. At night, if you want to experience a lively atmosphere, in the Paris Galleries there are a large number of charming bars, pubs and cocktail bars where you can enjoy a good green wine or a glass. Nor should you miss the Ribeira, the Dom Luis I Bridge, an icon of the city.
