Messina is a city located in the northeast corner of Sicily, opposite Reggio Calabria, next to the sea and the homonymous Strait of Messina. Messina has a rich and varied history, highlighted by its Gothic cathedral, its Astronomical Clock and its cultural heritage. Some of the main attractions you can visit in Messina are the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, the Fountain of Orion, the Duomo Treasure Museum and the Sanctuary of Christ the King. The port of Messina is also a stop for many cruise ships that travel through the Mediterranean.
