Alexandria

Alexandria, Egypt's largest coastal city, is a destination full of history, culture and charm. Founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC, Alexandria has been an important cultural, commercial and political center in the Mediterranean for centuries. Historically, the city is known for its lighthouse. The Lighthouse of Alexandria was built in the 3rd century BC. and destroyed by two earthquakes during the 14th century, for almost two millennia it was one of the seven Wonders of the ancient World. Another highlight of Alexandria is its impressive corniche, a boardwalk that runs along the coast and offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea.
