Asturias and Cantabria with Madrid

Welcome to Madrid! Transfer to the hotel.

In the afternoon we will take a panoramic tour during which we will visit the most representative monumental points of the city. At night we include a transfer to the Plaza Mayor where we can take the opportunity to have dinner and have some wines at an inn.

We include an excursion to the historic city of TOLEDO, protected by the Tagus River. Its medieval streets tell us about stories of Christians, Jews and Muslims. Free afternoon in MADRID. Tonight, if you wish, we optionally offer you a flamenco show.

We will leave at the beginning of the morning. We cross Castilla y León. Stop in TORDESILLAS. You will learn the history of this small town and you can have a coffee in its Plaza Mayor. Continuation to LEÓN, time for lunch and to see the fantastic Gothic cathedral of this historic city on the Camino de Santiago. Later we crossed the mountains of the Cantabrian Mountains traveling towards Asturias. Arrival in OVIEDO in the middle of the afternoon. We include (sometimes in the morning of the next day) a one and a half hour visit with a local guide of the city. We will visit the 9th century cathedral, the Calatrava Palace, the Campoamor theater, and Rúa street.

Note: If the number of travelers from Madrid to León is very limited, the trip can be made by train or regular transport, eliminating the stop in Tordesillas.

We travel to the Picos de Europa. Among beautiful landscapes we know the Basilica of Covadonga. We continue the route following the sea towards SANTILLANA, one of the most beautiful towns in Spain with its intact medieval town. In its vicinity we know the Museum of LAS CUEVAS DE ALTAMIRA, (entrance included). Later we traveled to SANTADER, the regional capital, a maritime city with impressive views between mountains and beaches. We include a panoramic tour with a local guide in which we can discover this elegant coastal city and its beautiful bay.

Note: From May to mid-October, due to high occupancy, some groups will be accommodated in Bilbao.

We follow the highway along the Cantabrian coast, with landscapes of great beauty between the mountains and the sea. BILBAO, arrival to the largest city in the Basque Country. We include upon arrival, with a local guide, a short visit of the city: Guggenheim area, old town, Cathedral... Then you will have free time to have some "pintxos". Continuation towards MADRID. Arrival at the end of the afternoon, around 8:00 p.m.

Note: Depending on the number of passengers, the Bilbao/Madrid route may be made by regular bus or train.
