Travel guide of Andalusia and Morocco

Day 1:

MADRID - GRANADA

Departure from Madrid at the beginning of the morning. We travel south through La Mancha, stopping at PUERTO LÁPICE, a town in La Mancha that evokes Don Quixote. We will enter through Despeñaperros in Andalusia. GRANADA, arrival. Lunch included. In the afternoon, if you purchased the trip with a visit to the Alhambra included, we will visit with a local guide the immense Alhambra Palace and its beautiful Generalife gardens, built in the Arab era. Day 2:

GRENADA - ASILAH - RABAT

Departure from Granada. We cross the Costa del Sol. In Algeciras or Tarifa we board a modern ferry crossing the Strait of Gibraltar (ticket included). ASILAH.- Picturesque small walled city facing the Atlantic, it was an old pirate port, today the population has a lot of life. Time for lunch. We continue later towards RABAT, arrival. Dinner included.

Day 3:

RABAT - CASABLANCA - MARRAKECH

Panoramic tour of RABAT; We know its immense Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohamed V and the powerful Kasbah of the Oudaias. At noon we leave for CASABLANCA, where we will make a brief visit with a local guide around the city. We will see the great Hassan II Mosque from the outside, one of the most important in the Arab world. Continuation towards MARRAKECH. After arriving at the hotel we include a horse-drawn carriage ride to the famous Jemaa El Fna Square. Dinner included.

Day 4:

MARRAKESH

We include a panoramic visit of this city that gave its name to the country. We will visit the great walls of the city, the Jemaa Square with its activity, we will walk through the colorful Medina, we will see the Kutubiya tower, we includeentrance and visit to the Bahia Palace. Lunch included. Free time, you can relax in the hotel pool and garden, or shop in the Marrakech Souks. At night there is the possibility of experiencing the fantasy party (optional).

Day 5:

MARRAKECH - AIT BENHADOU - OUARZAZATE - BOUMALNE DADES

We set out to cross the Atlas, high peaks often covered in snow greet us, saying goodbye to the palm grove of Marrakech. Small Berber villages hang in the abysses. We know the fortified town of AIT BEN HADDOU, a place where numerous films have been filmed. Both in this stage and in tomorrow's stage we will travel through the so-called biblical landscapes. Time in OUARZAZATE city with impressive Kasbah. We continue towards the Valley of Roses. BOUMALNE DADES. Dinner included.




Note: On very rare occasions (during winter) there may be snow problems in the Atlas steps; If the road is closed for this reason, an alternative program would be made (arriving or not to the Sahara according to alternative closed mountain passes).

Day 6:

BOUMALNE DADES - TODRA - KHORBAT - ERFOUD

Stage full of emotion in the Sahara Desert, The Valley of the Kasbahs, river valleys with thousands of palm trees, stone plains followed by oases and adobe towns with powerful fortresses defending the road. We visited the TODRA GORGES, a very powerful gorge with walls on both sides more than 100 m high. On our route we stopped in a small adobe town near KHORBAT to visit a desert town (sometimes access is not possible due to weather reasons and the river flooding). We continue towards ERFOUD. Lunch included. Passengers who wish can take an 4x4 excursion to the dunes of the Sahara and watch the sunset among the dunes.

Day 7:

ERFOUD - MIDELT - AZRU - BHALIL - FEZ

We will leave Erfoud early, we will once again cross the Atlas between powerful gorges and impressive landscapes. We subsequently crossed a high and cold plateau, an area inhabited by nomadic shepherds. Stop at MIDELT, in the center of this region. After lunch we continue the route towards the Middle Atlas, the landscape changes completely, we are in a region where forests abound and it snows frequently in winter. Near AZRÚ, in the National Park we visit “the house of the cedars”, a small museum that enlightens us about the region, we will see here and be amused by the colonies of monkeys that inhabit this zone. We continue towards BHALIL, a small and quiet town inhabited by Berbers from the middle Atlas with a very picturesque old center with colored streets, traditionally the population lived in caves, today those caves have been integrated into the homes. Continuation to FEZ, before going to the hotel we will admire the view of the city from the Saadian tombs.Dinner and accommodation.

Day 8:

FEZ - TANGIER

We include visit of FEZ, we enter through the Bronze doors of the Royal Palace, the Jewish quarter, its lively souks, the tanners' quarter. The cultural capital of the country is known for its impressive Medina that preserves the traditional Arab atmosphere like no other. At the end of the visit we include lunch in an old palace in the Medina. Departure to the north of Morocco along a modern highway. TANGIER -Arrival in the late afternoon. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 9:

TANGIER - SEVILLE

Free time in TANGIER Do you feel like doing the last bit of shopping? We boarded the ferry back to Spain. The coach will not be boarded, each passenger must carry their luggage on the ferry. Arrival in Algeciras or Tarifa and continuation to SEVILLE. Arrival in the late afternoon. Dinner included.

Day 10:

SEVILLE

In the morning we include a panoramic tour of the city. You will be able to see the cathedral and its famous Giralda, the banks of the Guadalquivir River, and the popular neighborhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana. After the visit we include a boat ride on the Guadalquivir River. Enjoy the panoramic views from the boat. At night we offer you the possibility of attending a popular flamenco tablao.

Day 11:

SEVILLE - CÓRDOBA - CONSUEGRA - MADRID

We leave Seville, following the Guadalquivir valley we travel to CÓRDOBA. With a local guide we include a visit to its great Mosque-Cathedral (entrance included), a walk through the old neighborhood with its famous patios full of flowers and entry into the Old Synagogue (entrance included). After lunch time we leave for Castilian lands. We will make a stop in CONSUEGRA, where 12 giant windmills next to the castle contemplate the La Mancha plain. We visited theRucio Mill. We return to MADRID.

MADRID
