Jeju City

Jeju City ( Jeju-si ) is the capital and main urban center of Jeju Island , located on the north coast and considered the gateway to this volcanic destination in southern South Korea. With nearly 500,000 inhabitants , it concentrates most of the island's administrative, commercial, and tourist services and is home to Jeju International Airport (CJU) , one of the busiest in the country and a key connection to Seoul and the rest of Asia. The city combines a long history linked to the ancient maritime kingdom of Tamna with modern development, boasting a mild climate, a coastal profile, and views of Mount Hallasan , South Korea's highest peak, which rises to the south of the city center.
