The Montsec Astronomical Park (P.A.M.) is an observation center of the Universe located in the municipality of Áger, in the province of Lleida that takes advantage of the unique characteristics of the Montsec sky for astronomical observation. This observation center has three structures: the central building, where the reception, administration and permanent exhibition are located; Ull del Montsec, a unique facility in the world as it is, at the same time, a digital 3D multimedia planetarium and a platform for direct observation of the sky, and the telescope park, a space made up of three buildings with an observation dome, three automatic telescopes, a coelostat to observe the sun and a set of portable telescopes where you can contemplate the sky. The Sierra del Montsec is a calcareous mountain range of more than 40 km in length divided between the autonomous communities of Aragon and Catalonia, in Spain. This mountain range has two gorges: Terradets, to the west in the Noguera Pallaresa and, to the east, Monrebey, in the Noguera Ribagorzana. These gorges divide the Sierra del Montsec into three zones: Montsec de l'Estall, in Huesca (Aragon), Montsec d'Ares and Montsec de Rúbies, in Catalonia. The main summits are the Tozal de las Torretas, with 1677 meters, Santa Alís, with 1676 meters, and the tip of Santa Quitèria, with 1329 meters of height. Among its most visited municipalities are Àger and the Barony of Sant Oisme. In addition, the Sierra del Montsec stands out for its clean skies free of light pollution that allow astronomical observation and astrotourism and that have led it to obtain several Starlight certifications. In fact, the Montsec Astronomical Park, located in Àger, is the most important center for observing the Universe in Catalonia.
