San Vicente de la Barquera

San Vicente de la Barquera is a fishing village located on the western coast of Cantabria, in the heart of the Oyambre Natural Park. Its fishing port is one of the most important in the region, although nowadays tourism is the main economic activity. San Vicente de la Barquera is a wonderful and charming medieval village which includes some stunning attractions such as the King's Castle, the medieval streets and the stunning medieval walls. Also worth seeing are the stone facade of the old hospital, the Church of Our Lady of the Angels and the lighthouse. And as for gastronomy, its all about the wonderfully fresh fish and shellfish, why not give one of the local dishes a try?
