Aragón is a Spanish autonomous community located in the north of the Iberian Peninsula. Historically it was called the Kingdom of Aragon and together with the Kingdom of Majorca, the Kingdom of Valencia, the Principality of Catalonia and other French, Italian and Greek territories, it formed the Crown of Aragon. Currently, Aragón is made up of three provinces: Huesca, Teruel and Zaragoza. Zaragoza is also the capital of the autonomous community. To the north you will find France, to the west Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, La Rioja and Navarra. To the east, Catalonia and the Valencian Community. Three distinct languages are spoken: Aragonese, Catalan and Spanish, the official language. Among its many mountain ranges are the Aragonese Pyrenees, in Huesca, a place for ski lovers, and the Iberian System and its highest peak, Moncayo. Not forgetting the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park in Aragon, a beautiful and protected nature reserve. Among its most famous cities and places to visit are the Basilica del Pilar and the Parque de la Expo in Zaragoza, the fifth largest city in Spain. Then there's Huesca a land of wine and mountains, and in Teruel, the city of Mudejar. Among some of the most famous festivals in Aragon, are the Fiestas de la Virgen del Pilar, Patron Saint of Spain, which attract a large number of travelers from all over the world.
