If you travel to Tenerife, you cannot miss the Teide National Park. Climbing the Teide cable car you will reach the viewpoint, at 3,555 meters high, from where you can see, if the weather allows it, four other Canary Islands: Gran Canaria, La Palma, El Hierro and La Gomera. Before the climb to Mount Teide, you will be able to observe a volcanic landscape that seems from another planet.
As a suggestion, if you have time left over, after eating, it is a good time to visit Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Once you arrive in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, start touring its urban core, contemplating the exterior of the Auditorium, the work of the architect Calatrava, and strolling down Calle Castillo , the commercial street, to end with a dip in one of the best valued beaches on the island: the Playa de las Teresitas. This beach has several dikes that protect it from the waves, which make it an ideal beach to go with children. To end the day, nothing better than enjoying your hotel and its swimming pool.

How to climb to the top of El Teide?
If you want to crown the highest peak in Spain and climb to the crater of Teide, you will have to do it on foot. It is the only option. To do this, you have to request a special permit at least three months before your trip. This permit is free and you have to request it on the National Park Reserves website. The reason for this requirement is to preserve the ecosystem and natural landscape by limiting visits to 200 people per day. The walk to the top is about 40-60 minutes. Children over 6 years old can also climb as long as they are accustomed to walking and hiking as there are some stretches with quite a slope. If you book with Nativics well in advance, we take care of managing your permit at no additional cost as long as there are places at the time of confirming the reservation.

Before leaving your hotel, make sure to check the airport where your flight departs from on your ticket, as there are two airports on the island: Tenerife South Airport, known as Reina Sofía, and Tenerife North Airport ( The Rodeos). They are located at different points in Tenerife, so it is important not to get confused if you do not want to be late or miss your flight.

These tickets include the ascent and descent in the Teide cable car with advance reservation and assigned time.
Once you get off the cable car cabin, you will be 3,555 meters high in the largest National Park in the Canary Islands: Mount Teide. Once up there you will have an hour to enjoy the volcanic landscape. From the point where the cable car leaves you, you will find several paths to get to know the surroundings of Teide but, if what you want is to climb to the top, for this you will have to request a separate permit several months in advance. This ascent is not suitable for those people who are not used to making excursions regularly and less if they go with minors.
Restrictions
- The cable car is not allowed for people with cardiovascular problems, pregnant women or children under 3 years for risk of damage to health due to height. Check with your doctor before planning your visit or booking your Teide Cable Car tickets if you suffer from health problems.
- According to current regulations, people with physical or motor disabilities are not allowed to go up by cable car , due to the reasons derived from the risks of evacuation.
- It is important to bear in mind that in the event that the facilities stop working for unexpected technical reasons, the people who are in the upper station should descend on foot through steep mountain trails.
- Pets are not allowed.
Important information
- You must go to the cable car boarding area with your ticket, either printed or on your mobile, 20 minutes before the session time that appears on your ticket, although we recommend you be there earlier to park . If you do not arrive on time, you lose the right to board.
- The facilities may stop operating due to adverse weather conditions. If the cable car is not operational on the day of your visit, we will send you a notification by mail and/or SMS around 8:30 a.m.
Cancellations
Since the operation of the cable car is subject to changing weather conditions (wind speed, temperature, etc.), delays in the estimated boarding time may occasionally occur. If there is a delay of at least 90 minutes over the contracted time due to the closure of the facilities for meteorological or technical reasons, a full refund of the amount may be requested at no cost as long as the tickets have not been used.
